I am Muhammad Selim Jahangir(Selim) is the founder and principal of Al-Qur’an Academy (AQA) Brisbane INC. I graduated in “Learning Qur’an with Tajweed” in 2016. I learnt the Qur’an with Tajweed directly by Imam Akram Buksh from Slacks Creek mosque. 13 students and I as a teacher started AQA as a male madrasa on 8th August, 2016. Since then for nearly 5 years, I am engaged in teaching the course “Learning Qur’an with Tajweed”. Later in 2018 I started memorising the Qur’an with Ahmed Nafaa(Al-Azhari), Imam of Kuraby mosque and I finished 4 Juz with him. I also established another madrasa called “Kuraby Adult Qur’an Academy(KAQA)” as a sister organization of AQA in 2019 for the wider community. Out of my passion for the Qur’an and it’s understanding, I completed another course on “Arabic Grammar to understand the Qur’an” , taught by Sheikh Imam Ahmed Nafaa during the period of 219-2020. I am currently studying a higher level of Arabic Grammar with the intention of becoming an Alim inshaaAllah.
I graduated from RUET (Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology) in 1995 in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I did my masters from Queensland University of Technology(QUT) in 2007 in IT. I have been working as an IT professional for the past 25 years. Currently I am working as a software engineer for Red Hat(IBM).
I have a passion for learning by teaching. In my free time, I love gardening and fishing.
